Just a few hours remain for you to submit your (possible winning!) comment to Mossy’s very first ever amzingly amazing Giveaway.  Good luck!

Below is our big spring plan.  I always try to remind myself that a plant’s only mission in life is to grow and reproduce.

Most likely, this will happen.

Tomatoes:  Sow indoors 6 weeks before final frost date (Harvest 120 days)

Sugar Snap Peas:  Sow outdoors 4 to 6 weeks before final frost date near vine supports (e.g. fencing, nylon mesh netting, tomato cages, bamboo poles) (Harvest 60 to 100 days)

Cucumbers:  Start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before final frost date in peat pots or newspaper pots, or sow directly in garden (Harvest 60 days)

Looseleaf lettuce/baby greens:  Sow indoors late winter and transplant 3 to 4 weeks before frost date; or sow outdoors 3 weeks before final frost date (Harvest 30 to 50 days)

Radishes:  Sow directly in garden 3 weeks before final frost date (Harvest 21 to 28 days)

Gourds:  Sow indoors 3 weeks before final frost, transplant next to sturdy trellis (Harvest 90 to 130 days)

Summer squash/zucchini:  Start seeds indoors 2 weeks before frost date, or sow directly in garden.  (Harvest 60 days)

Potatoes:  Chit (grow shoots on) seed potatoes inside 2 weeks before last frost date, move to garden or tub when shoots are 1 inch (Harvest 60 days)

Swiss chard:  Sow directly in garden 2 weeks before final frost date (Harvest 50 to 60 days)

Green bush beans:  Sow directly in garden 1 to 2 weeks before final frost date (Harvest 60 to 80 days)

Stubby carrots:  Danvers or Little Finger sow directly in garden early spring, then thin seedlings (Harvest 100 days)

Herbs:  (basil, parsley, rosemary, thyme, oregano)
